2022 GMC Acadia
The GMC Acadia is a family-friendly SUV that offers a roomy interior, a choice of two capable engines, and good gas mileage. For the 2022 model year, the Acadia loses its entry-level SL trim and also its base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The distinctive exterior design of the Acadia features C-shaped signature lighting and a traditional blocky GMC grille. You can choose from four trim levels: the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The SLE trim is equipped with deep-tinted glass, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated and power-adjustable mirrors with turn-signal indicators, and a dual-outlet exhaust. Apart from LED fog lights, the SLT trim adds a hands-free programmable liftgate and roof-mounted side rails. The AT4 trim offers Gloss Black roof-mounted side rails, unique 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, and all-terrain tires. With the range-topping Denali trim, you receive 20-inch aluminum wheels, auto-dimming side mirrors, and a signature Denali grille. For unique aesthetic touches such as black exterior accents and 20-inch aluminum painted Gloss Black wheels, opt for a special Elevation Edition model.
Engine (Power)
Since the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine falls away for the 2022 model year, you can choose from the remaining two engines. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivers an output of 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A more energetic output of 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque is provided by an available 3.6-liter V-6 engine. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, an all-wheel drive is available, except for the AT4 trim, which features a standard all-wheel-drive system.
Performance
A Traction Select System, which allows you to switch to different modes for different road conditions, comes standard with the Acadia. With front-wheel-drive models, you receive Normal, Snow, Sport, and Trailer/Tow modes. All-wheel-drive models feature FWD, AWD, Sport, Off-Road, and Trailer/Tow modes. Off-road enthusiasts should opt for the AT4 trim, which is equipped with off-road-ready features such as an active torque control system, hill descent control, and hill start assist.
Interior
Passengers receive supportive and spacious seating, especially in the first two rows. The rear cargo area of 12.8 cubic feet can be extended to 79 cubic feet when you fold the rear seats down. With the standard 8-inch infotainment system, you receive wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, a Wi-Fi hot spot, USB ports, six speakers, and SiriusXM.
Other standard interior features include cruise control, a premium cloth seat trim, and tri-zone automatic climate control. The base trim also features active noise cancelation, a rear-window defogger, and keyless open and start. Higher trims add various upgrades, such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a head-up display.
Safety Features
All Acadia trims are equipped with the GM Pro Safety Plus suite, which consists of advanced driver-assist systems such rear park assist, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Other standard features include rear cross-traffic alert, an HD rear-vision camera, front-collision warning, a following distance indicator, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert.
