2022 GMC Yukon
The GMC Yukon is a large three-row SUV that offers plenty of space, comfort, and power. Apart from three capable engines, the Yukon provides stout towing capacity and an abundance of modern features and technology options. For the 2022 model year, the Yukon receives a few minor upgrades, such as a standard 12-inch digital gauge display and a new infotainment interface.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The exterior design of the new Yukon features distinctive LED headlights and taillights with a signature C-shaped design and an enlarged grille. Apart from the regular Yukon model, you can opt for a long-wheelbase model, which is called the Yukon XL. Four trim levels are offered: the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.
The base trim is equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels, black assist steps, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, roof-mounted side rails, and rain-sensing wipers. With the SLT trim, you receive 20-inch aluminum wheels, a hands-free liftgate, and chrome body-side moldings.
The AT4 trim delivers rugged off-road capability with features such as all-terrain tires, front tow hooks, skid plates, a heavy-duty air filter, and adaptive suspension dampers. Apart from a more powerful standard engine, the Denali trim offers Satin Chrome body-side moldings and a dual-outlet exhaust.
Engine (Power)
You can choose from three capable engines with the Yukon. The standard engine is powered by a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. A stronger 6.2-liter V-8 engine with an output of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque comes standard on the Denali. An optional turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine provides an output of 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard and four-wheel drive is optional, except for the AT4. This trim features a standard four-wheel-drive system
Performance
The Yukon can be equipped with an available two-speed transfer case, which provides the capability to switch in and out of four-wheel drive as needed. Improved utility and driving dynamics are offered through an available Four-Corner Ride Adaptive suspension system, which allows you to increase ground clearance when driving on rougher terrain.
Interior
The Yukon's cabin is comfortable, quiet, and spacious. Supportive seats are provided for seven to nine passengers. You also receive more than enough cargo room. The regular Yukon offers a rear cargo area of 25.5 cubic feet, while the longer XL model boasts 41.5 cubic feet of space.
Apart from wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, the standard 10.2-inch infotainment system comes with six speakers, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and satellite radio. The higher trims add many luxury features, such as leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a head-up display, and a digital rearview mirror. A power-folding center console is added with the top Denali trim.
Safety Features
A comprehensive suite of standard safety features will keep you and your family safe on the road. All Yukon models are equipped with forward-collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, a following distance indicator, and front pedestrian braking. You also receive front and rear park assist, and HD rear vision camera, and lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning.
